Never before has it been more important for Oklahoma's retired educators to have a strong professional organization fighting for them.

Now 56 years young, that is exactly what the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association is doing: standing up and speaking with a clear voice for retired education employees everywhere in Oklahoma. We have seventy-one local units spread across eight geographic districts, giving more than 14,000 members the opportunity to participate in educational, social, volunteer and personal improvement programs.

The business affairs of the organization are managed by a democratically elected Executive Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, eight District Directors, and chairs of several standing committees.

Four highly qualified and dedicated staff serve members from OREA's Oklahoma City headquarters.

Thanks in part to OREA, retired educators are able to remain active and vital members of their community, state, nation and the world.

Whether advocating for retired educators at the state Capitol, at the important boards and commissions whose decisions profoundly impact retirees' lives, or in a multitude of other ways, OREA strives to remain relevant to the lives of its members.

If you're an OREA member, thanks for your support. You make us great. If you're not, why not become one today? You'll make us even greater. After all, while we celebrate the past and the present at OREA, we still have our eyes on the future.

The Oklahoma Retired Educators Association is proud to play an important role in improving the quality of life for retired educators. Founded in 1952 just a few years after the establishment of the Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System, OREA has fought many battles to help retired educators live better lives.

OREA's accomplishments are too numerous to mention, but we're not satisfied with what we have done. We must continue to increase our membership and strengthen our ability to impact legislative decisions.

The OREA is your organization. Working together, we will be able to accomplish great things for all educational retirees.
